We have exciting news!

Starting in 2025 Mephit Fur Meet will welcome everyone home in our new home, The Vitality Hotel in Memphis, TN! That’s right, we’re going back to Memphis!

MFM continues to have a really good relationship with the Whispering Woods Hotel, our previous home since 2010. The Whispering Woods has entered an agreement with a company to rent out the entire hotel, so they informed us that, regretfully, we had to find a new home for 2025 and beyond. MFM wishes them well in their future endeavors!

Our wonderful new home will be The Vitality Hotel. It has two pools, a hot tub, lots of conference space, and best of all, all of the convention space is on one floor! They reached out to us when they learned of our situation, and are very excited to open their doors to our big furry family reunion for many years ahead! The are a brand new hotel opening only a few months ago.

We know you have lots of questions, so we’ve tried to answer some of them here.

Do I need to cancel my room at the Whispering Woods?

No. All reservations in our room block will be  automatically cancelled. You will need to rebook your room! To book your room for MFM 2025, please check out our hotel page!

When can we book rooms at the new hotel?

Right now! 🎉

How many rooms does the new hotel have?

Around 300, almost 2.5 times what the Whispering Woods had. No overflow hotel!

What are my food options?

The Vitality has a wonderful restaurant and will be doing food specials all weekend long for the MFM family! We have worked with the new hotel to provide options for lunch and dinner for around $10-$12 each.

Hello everyone,

We would like to take this opportunity to address any rumors that may be circling about an incident at Mephit Fur Meet this past weekend.

On Sunday, at approximately 12PM, our host hotel, Whispering Woods, received several calls from an upset individual who was offended that the hotel was hosting us.  The caller made several threats towards the attendees and the property, and the hotel notified the board of directors of the incident.  The local police were notified and sent investigators and officers to investigate the incident.  The police department has the messages and statements of the hotel staff and worked with us in various positions to verify the safety of our attendees.  The police are continuing to investigate and have increased the police presence to make sure there would be plenty of staff in the event the individual attempted to cause physical concerns.  The Board of Directors and the Operations staff were on heightened alert from the moment we were alerted to the incident. Our staff were monitoring, and we were prepared to implement our plans to protect our extended family here at Mephit Fur Meet.   

We take the safety and security of our attendees very seriously, and while we were very concerned, we were also instantly cautious to keep this within our staff members and not cause panic among our attendees.  As this is an ongoing investigation, we are limited on the information we are releasing but we would like to let everyone know that we took this threat seriously and our operations teams worked closely with police to maintain everyone’s safety and a friendly environment. 

We all thank you for your support and concern and we hope that this type of incident can have a peaceful resolution and that we will see everyone again next year when we start the weekend with our favorite saying, Welcome Home.

To our Mephit Fur Meet Family,

We’re closely watching the situation with the COVID-19 virus. As dates for Mephit Fur Meet 2020 are many months away, we are currently watching to see how the pandemic unfolds.

At this time we have no new information to report about MFM 2020.

As we get closer to MFM’s dates, we’ll have more news to share. We will follow the laws of Olive Branch, MS, as well as the best practices recommended at that time. The situation is changing by the hour, and we want to make sure we do what’s best for Mephit Fur Meet and our family as the dates for our convention approaches.

Pre-registration for Mephit Fur Meet 2019 is now over! If you didn’t pre-register, don’t worry, you can still come! We have door registration, too. An attending membership is $55 for the whole weekend at the door, and the prices of Sponsoring and Super Sponsoring are the same.

We’ve fully booked the Whispering Woods for MFM 2019! Because of this, we’ve opened a block of rooms at the overflow hotel, which is on the corner of the property of the Whispering Woods.

If you didn’t pre-register in time, that’s just fine. You can still register at the door! The price for door registration is $50, and the line usually isn’t very long.

Have you pre-registered for MFM 2018? If not, you’d better hurry, because it closes on August 3rd, 2018!

After pre-registration closes, you’ll still be able to attend MFM, but you’ll have to register at the door, and will have to pay door registration prices. ($50 for attending, rather than $45.)

We tend to run out of some sizes of shirts pretty early into the convention. Pre-registering is the only way to ensure you’ll be able to get the size you want. Door registration sizes are first come, first serve, and while we make an attempt to figure out what sizes we’ll need, we always tend to run out of popular sizes.

The Whispering Woods hotel is down to just a few rooms left for Mephit Fur Meet 2018! If you still haven’t booked a hotel room, now would be a good time to do so! If their online system reports that the hotel is full, please give them a call.
